Blueberries & Grapes
When we woke up on Sunday morning, we had no plans. But, the weather was just too perfect to stay home. So, a quickie search of the internet led us to Litchfield County, CT. I have no idea what we did before the web but I'm sure glad we have it now. But, I digress.
Our first stop was March Farms in Bantam, CT. Beautiful, quaint and the berries were plentiful. And, less than an hour away from home. :) The kiddos were so excited to see so many blueberry bushes filled with berries ripe for picking. They were running from one to another screaming, come here I found a blue mine...get it instead of a gold mine. LOL! ;)
Of course, now we are all hungry from the hard work of blueberry picking. ;) We stopped and ate a fabulously delish meal at Wood's BBQ pit. Oh My!!! The pulled pork and sweet potato fries!!! And!!!! They had their very own Teamonade!!! YUM-O! Stew done good finding this place. :D
Lastly, we hit Hopkins Vineyard for a little wine tasting. We were *really* impressed not only with the wine but with the views as well. We bought a chilled bottle of sweet wine and sat out on the patio and enjoyed the views. The kiddos got a kick out the finding a frog in the pond. :D
A quick trip home and an end to one greatly fantabulous day. :D Enjoy!
